We have a new single out, quite spontaneously. It’s called Big Trouble and it’s taken from our new album, Into The Sea, which is out in March. You can download the single for absolutely nothing here:
This is the final entry in the 2011 ‘PIC OF THE DAY’ series. Sad time for you all I guess?
Had a show in Nottingham yesterday with some really great bands. Some Skeletons (from Nottingham) and We Are The Physics (from Glasgow) played before we did. Both were exceptionally delightful and made the night a really special one for us. It was great to share a stage with some of our bestest pals. Those bands are both THE GREATIST, so check them out please:
A perfect end to the tour and rounded off our run of 20 shows in 23 days. Was great to see all our friends there.
See you in 2012!
TOUR PIC OF THE DAY #20
OXFORD 10.12.11
LAST DAY OF THE LECCY SIX TOUR! OXFORD! Full of boat races and clever people. AND ACE GIGS.
Pretty sad to be finishing the tour but this gig rounded it all off nicely. It kind of descended into madness a little but that made it the funnest of all time. A great end to a great tour.
Tonight we play in Nottingham. It’s gonna rock.
TOUR PIC OF THE DAY #19
Bournemouth 9.12.11
A few of us went for a run along Bournemouth sea front before the gig, which was really nice. The coastline is amazing there… pity about the fact that the weather has got even colder.
Amazing venue in Bournemouth. It’s an old opera hall with not one but TWO balconies. We spent a lot of our night getting told off by security for various reasons. They even confiscated our camera at one point for taking photos. Turns out the Academy in Bournemouth has really strict rules about EVERYTHING. I was scared to breathe by 11pm. That being said we had a really great time and the show was good. MASSIVE stage to run about on, which is always fun.
Had a nice curry afterwards. It was spicy. We couldn’t find any hot noodles. TWO DAYS LEFT! I am really sad about this.
Could do with a sandwich now. Pretty bored of peanuts and crisps.
TOUR PIC OF THE DAY #18
London 8.12.11
I always get REALLY nervous for our shows in London. There’s always a lot of pressure for some reason or another that I try my best to ignore… never happens though. This gig was no exception really. I’d say it’s the most nervous I’ve been on the whole tour.
So, I was obviously glad that the gig went really well. The venue was completely sold out so we played to a huge crowd, which always helps ease us in to things. It’s been a while since we’ve played at the Islington Academy but it’s a really cool venue, aside from the million flights of stairs you have to walk up to get from the dressing room to the stage.
Electric Six were awesome as usual. I like them more and more each time I see them. Two shows left and I’m really gonna miss those guys.
Where are the hot noodles? Need to get them in my gublet soon.
TOUR PIC OF THE DAY #17
Bristol 7.12.11
BRISTOL! YES! Really great place with some great food establishments near the venue. We found a good place for hot noodles but ended up seeing a burrito place on the way and went there instead. We’ve been searching for noodles for well over a week now. Life can be so cruel.
Good venue, great gig. Aside from the irritating girl that was waving at us the whole way through our set.
Met some really nice people after the show, which is always great. Tom Crabb’s dark passenger also came out to play, as you can see in the top photo. Life, eh?
TOUR PIC OF THE DAY #15
Sheffield 6.12.11
Brighton was great. The Concorde 2 is such an ace venue. Great sound, great lights and proper great room to play in. The only downside was how cold it was as it’s completely glass fronted and is right on the seafront.
Despite the cold I went on a run with Rowan along the beach, which was nice. We’ve been running three times on this tour - Amsterdam, Inverness and Brighton. We are wise of the whole world now. I’m not really sure what that’s meant to mean though.
Photos today come in the form of Tom Crabb. He’s helping us out for a few days. I think he has a dark passenger.
Currently in the Little Chef next to our travel lodge abusing their free wifi. Really enjoying this tour. Under a week left and don’t want it to end!
TOUR PIC OF THE DAY #14
Sheffield 5.12.11
CARDIFF! Home of Welsh people. We played at the Glee Club which, if you didn’t know, is a comedy club. It was quite a strange gig but was a hell of a lot of fun nevertheless! I really enjoyed it and all the people in the crowd were good to us. Our dressing room for the show was the DJ booth. It was quite cramped. Also, the venue was really cold.
We had a great Nandos after we played. It was our first of the tour, which was a long time coming!
We were also joined by our friends Vince and Tom. Vince is in the picture above. That’s not his normal face.
TOUR PIC OF THE DAY #13
Sheffield 3.12.11
Didn’t really know what to expect from Sheffield as we’ve never played there before but it was one of my favourites of the whole tour. One thing I’ve learnt over the past few weeks is that I really love playing the smaller venues with the ‘not so huge’ stages. I get scared by massive venues. They are fun to rock out on though.
People in Sheffield love Kinder eggs too.
We got back to Nottingham pretty late as we had Sunday off, so stayed at home. We went to the best Kebab house in the world, Victoria Kebabs, for dinner. The best.
Next gig is in Cardiff! Can’t wait to get back playing!
