I uploaded our cover of the 2 Unlimited song ‘No Limit’ to our facebook music page here - http://www.facebook.com/swound
Here is the original version (much better than our version)
It’s about 4 years old and contains a number of key features which are listed below:
1. This is one of only two songs that we detuned to ‘C’ when recording (just like our heroes Limp Bizkit and Korn). The other song was called ‘Knock, Knock. Who’s there? ZOMBIES!’ that we recorded for a Punktastic compilation album. I’ll probably upload that soon.
2. I’ve been trying to get the others to let me rap in our songs since we first practiced in ye olden’ days but this is the only song that I’ve laid down my ULTIMATE WEST COAST STYLE onto. I was pretty suprised that they didn’t ask me to do more after they’d heard it.
3. The two raps in this were the hardest things I’ve ever had to record. I almost passed out every time I recorded a take and afterwards I lost my voice for two days. This was only beaten by the time I got obsessed with practicing my death growls and gave myself flu and was in bed for a week. Sadly that’s not a joke and I can’t believe it was coincidence.
4. Our old guitarist played on this song. His name is Chris Walls. He was really good at guitar and we have gotten a lot less musical since he left. Now we just play 3 chords in every song and hope nobody notices.
5. We filmed a video for this but when it was combined with the song we soon realised that the whole package was possibly the worst thing we’d ever done and we were all sick everywhere. I might still have it somewhere but I hope not.
6. We only played it live once. It was terrible. I think we made a few people chop off their ears and have brain transplants.
Anyway, I hope you like it. Here is a picture of Rowan and myself… I don’t understand my tooth either.
